Welcome to Trinity Hall College!

Pros

  • Central location, on the river.

  • Small, homely college

  • First year accommodation is almost all on central site, some can go to WYNG Garden which is next to St John’s.

  • WYNG Gardens has ovens and en-suites

Cons

  • Central site rooms have shared gyps and bathrooms only

  • No halal food provision

  • Most second/third year accommodation is over the hill

Washing Facilities

  • Cost of washing facilities differ in the different college sites - about £2 to wash and £1 to dry. Central site takes card, Wyng and Wychfield sites take coins only.

Extra Info

  • We have recently started a Trinity Hall ISoc, please send an email to Umayyah (ur231) or Shihab (sa2071) to join the group chat on WhatsApp. Here we talk about what to spend the Society funding on, organise socials and raise any questions.

Fridge/Freezer Provision

  • If you would like your own fridge you can request it under religious reasons. But they won’t pay for it, and instead just give you permission to bring a mini one into your room. All the kitchens are shared and have a fridge and freezer.

Prayer Space

  • We have a new prayer room Alhamdulilah. The location is central site T staircase room 3. There are prayer mats, Qur’an and prayer clothing (scarf and abaya).

Halal Food

  • They are starting to incorporate some halal meat into the menu so hopefully our choices in the canteen will expand. But it is good for now alhamdulilah!

Ensuite

  • No en-suite in central site and some buildings in Wychfield. New build Wychfield and Wyng accommodation are en-suite. Rooms are allocated based on a random ballot, and you can put in special considerations under religion if you need an en-suite. The ballot is reversed in second year to make it a fair process.. So if you’re at the bottom of the ballot in second year, you will be at the top in third year.

Most rooms have sinks in the central site, so you can perform wudhu in your own room even if the bathroom is shared. However there are handful of rooms without sinks (like mine in first year 🥲) and the shared bathroom is not clean. if this happens you can request a new room or get a rent reduction

The college is normally quite accommodating and they don’t make it difficult for students
