Annual Dinner 2025
The CUISoc Annual Dinner is more than just a gathering—it is a homecoming. It is an evening where generations of CUISoc members, past and present, reunite under one roof, bound by the unshakable ties of faith, friendship, and shared purpose. On the 8th of February, we witnessed the first of these annual dinners, following last year’s final ‘Biennial Dinner.’ It was a night unlike any other, bringing together alumni, students, fellows, and guests from across the Cambridge community in what became the largest CUISoc gathering to date. The air was thick with warmth and nostalgia as old friends embraced, new connections blossomed, and stories spanning years were woven together into the fabric of one unforgettable evening.
As the night unfolded, we were reminded of the deeper meaning behind our unity. Esteemed speakers, including Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad and Muhammad Jalal, spoke with wisdom and heart, urging us to hold fast to our bonds, to find joy in one another, and to remain unwavering in our service to the Ummah. Yet, amidst the laughter and shared memories, the evening also served as a moment of reflection—a reminder of the immense privilege we hold and the responsibility that comes with it. While we were fortunate enough to gather in comfort and companionship, others across the world—our brothers and sisters in Gaza, Sudan, and beyond—face unimaginable hardship. Their suffering is a stark call to action, compelling us to use our blessings not only for our own betterment but for the service of those in need.
This Dinner was also an opportunity to support CUISoc itself—to invest in the society that has given so much to so many. The generosity shown that night, from our sponsors—Zunikh, Human Appeal, Qardus, Kube Publishing, Islamic Relief, One Nation, and Sweetzone—to the countless individuals who donated, was a powerful testament to the strength of our community. In giving, we affirmed our belief in CUISoc’s mission: to be a force for good, a sanctuary for students, and a beacon of light within Cambridge and beyond.
We pray that this is only the beginning. May this Annual Dinner become a cherished tradition, one that continues to inspire, uplift, and bring us closer to one another and to God. And may CUISoc’s work be blessed, so that it may remain a source of strength, solace, and unwavering faith for generations to come.
