BHM special: Africa’s Islamic intellectual history

With Black History Month having just passed, join us in learning the massive impact black African scholars have had in the development of Islamic intellectual/scholarly traditions, dating back to the era of the Tabi’in.
The talk will be delivered by Sheikh Michael Mumisa, who is a current PhD candidate in the Faculty of Asian and Middle Easter Studies. He has regularly appeared on BBC radio 4 programmes and provides advice to TV networks regarding scripts and storylines. He is current research involves an investigation into the discursive construction of the Jahiliyya in classical Arabic literature.
